Cash on delivery (COD) is the most popular way to shop online in Pakistan. You order online, the courier brings the parcel to your door, and you pay in cash when it arrives. You don’t need a bank card, and you don’t pay anything until the parcel is in your hands.
This guide explains how COD works, how to order safely, and what to do if something is wrong with your order.
How cash on delivery works
- Choose a product on a website or app and add it to your cart.
- Enter your delivery details: full name, phone number, complete address and city. A correct phone number matters, because the courier will call you before delivery.
- Select “Cash on Delivery” as the payment method and place the order.
- The seller confirms and ships the order. You can usually follow its status (confirmed, packed, shipped, delivered).
- The rider delivers the parcel and you pay the exact amount shown in your order.
Before you order: 6 quick checks

- Read the full description: size, colour, material, warranty and what is in the box.
- Look at real photos and videos. Short product videos (reels) show the item better than a single edited photo.

- Compare the total price, including any delivery charge, so the amount at your door is not a surprise.
- Write a complete address with house number, street, area, nearby landmark and city.
When the rider arrives
- Check that the parcel is sealed and your name and order number are on it.
- Pay the exact amount written on your order. Do not pay extra “charges” that were not shown when you ordered.
- If possible, record a short video while opening the parcel. It is the best proof if the item is damaged or wrong.
- Keep the packaging and tags until you are sure you want to keep the item.
If something is wrong
If the item is damaged, not working, the wrong size or colour, missing parts, or clearly different from the photos, you can ask for a return within the return period.
